We go back with Daniel to find out about his upbringing in a Catholic school, how he then gravitates towards a life of drinking, drugs, and crime; how a tragic night leads to the loss of a sibling and how he continues to struggle with that loss and the ghosts of his past. Dealing openly and honestly about the moments of his life, he takes note of the impact that they have had on his life and outlook, resulting in a book which is highly readable, relatable, and frank without being too intimidating. “Why bother?” There are many lessons to be learned from this collection of moments strung together from this “Pioneer’s” memory.
